After 50 successful years in the market, ERLUS is modernizing the KARAT with a new design and technology.

Our design studio was involved in every stage of development, ensuring a harmonious blend of form and function. In an evolutionary innovation process, the essential features of the tile types are worked out, all constructive and formal details are analyzed, supplemented with contemporary functions, and brand-typical characteristics (corporate identity) are made visible. The result is a linear and streamlined style now reflected in all functional elements.

Three key advantages stand out as our weather becomes more extreme: The KARAT boasts deep, triple interlocking joints that repel driving rain from the sub-roof – even with a standard roof pitch as low as 7°. The new hold-down system with hooks strengthens the KARAT's resistance to wind suction. The improved ribbing on the underside allows the KARAT to withstand hailstones of up to 4 cm.

Together we incorporated stacking locks to securely anchor the tile packs on sloped roofs to enhance ease of handling during installation.
